What is “point of view,” when it comes to writing great fiction? And why is it so important? Implementing good point-of-view practices can be daunting. Jargon like head-hopping and deep POV can make applying those practices seem confusing.
In this members-only workshop, we’ll de-mystify POV by looking at 4 key elements:
- The types of POV (advantages/disadvantages of each)
- What is head-hopping (and how to avoid it)
- Seeing the world from you character’s perspective (using dialogue and description)
- Digging down into Deep POV (what is Deep POV? And how do you create it?)
Come ready to polish a scene from your work-in-progress or work from provided prompts to learn to integrate good POV practices in your fiction.
