Andrew Varga –Jump in Time Series
16 yr old Dan comes from a long line of time jumpers—secret heroes who fix glitches that threaten to alter history. There’s just one problem–Dan’s never been told any of this. And now he’s accidentally sent himself back to 1066 England. That is the story behind The Last Saxon King, book one of The Jump in Time series, a seven book young adult, time-travel historical fiction adventure series that sends readers to some of the most harrowing and significant moments of history. The Last Saxon King sends Dan off to the early fall of 1066, where in the span of three short weeks the course of English history and language was forever altered.
This book won the Red Maple Honour Book award from the Ontario Library Association for their Forest of Reading Program, and also won the Gold Medal as Teen Book of the year from the Independent Book Publishers Association.
The second book in the series, The Celtic Deception, sends our teen heroes off to Celtic Wales during the Roman occupation, when the Roman legions were attempting to wipe out the Druids on the island of Anglesey.
This book was selected to be part of the Forest of Reading’s Summer Reading program, and also was given the Editor’s Choice Award by The Historical Novel Society.
The third book in the series, The Mongol Ascension, which just came out in September, takes our heroes off to the steppes of Mongolia during the rise of Genghis Khan. All books are rich in historical detail, and would be great choices for any teen or any history lover.
